The Tao Zhi Lamp is part of our Ashmolean Collection. Decorated with a peach branch laden with fruit in cobalt blue and red on a white background with flying bats, the piece is inspired by the design on a Qing dynasty vase held by The Ashmolean Museum. Complete with a hardwood base and carrying a fully lined cream coloured shade.

Peaches are associated with longevity, lingzhi fungus with eternal youth. Bats often carry the meaning of becoming rich, but when in groups can represent longevity, health, wealth, virtue and a peaceful, natural death.

The images display the lamp turned both on and off.  Base: 22cm diameter x 44cm. Shade: 43cm diameter x 28cm high. 68cm overall height. Weight: 4075g.

Materials: Porcelain, Wood, Man-made fibre. Colours: Blue, White background with pale green tinge. Fitted with UK 3 pin plug and in-line switch. Requires a 60W max B22 bulb.
